Like every year PTCL has announced free upgrade for it’s DSL customers who have feasible lines that can support this upgrade. All the 4MB connections will automatically upgraded to 8MB DSL broadband speed. All such customers who are upgraded will enjoy double broadband speed without any extra charge till January 31st, 2015. Starting February 1st, 2015 these upgraded customers will be charged Rs. 2,500/Month till 30th Jun 2015. Then from July 1st 2015, upgraded subscribers will have to pay Rs. 2,999/Month for their 8MB broadband.

Those customers who wish not to pay extra will have to down-grade their speeds back to 4MB plan by calling helpline and they must do this or otherwise they will be charged extra from dates mentioned above. We believe this isn’t the right way of offering the customers a benefit, as they are upgraded without consent for a limited time and then they have to take an action after a certain duration to avoid extra charge.

PTCL DSL Upgrade Details

• 4Mbps Subscribers upgraded to 8 Mbps will enjoy the speed without any extra charges till 31st January 2015.
• Unlimited Downloads during promotion period.
• Subscriber continuing with the promo after promotion period will pay discounted charges of Rs. 2,500/Month from 1st Feb 2015 till 30th Jun 2015.
• From 1st Jul 2014, Upgrade subscribers will pay Rs. 2,999/Month.
• 200-GB download cap will be in place from 1st Feb 2015
• Additional GBs at Rs. 100 per GB for extra data usage.
• Billing Cap at Rs. 4,999/Month for 8Mbps — after this virtually unlimited downloads are allowed
• All customer who do not wish to continue with 8Mbps will have to Opt out by calling 1236 and reverting back to 4Mbps.

After clean sweep Australian team in 2 match test series, team Pakistan has secured third position in the ICC Test Team Rankings, its best Test ranking in seven years. This is Pakistan’s best Test rankings since it claimed third position in January 2007 following the series in South Africa, which the home side won 2-1.

In contrast, Australia has retained second position on the Test table, but, after conceding six ratings points, the gap with number-one ranked South Africa has opened to seven ratings points. Australia had entered the series in second position on 123 ratings points, while Pakistan started in sixth position on 96 ratings points. Pakistan’s all rounder Mohammad Hafeez has been once again reported to International Cricket Council (ICC) for suspected bowling action on Thursday. According to reports,  Match referee Andy Pycroft reported to ICC about Hafeez’s bowling action during 1st test between Pakistan and New Zealand. He also reported to chief selector and team manager Moin Khan about the suspect bowling action. This is not the first time he was reported for suspect bowling action, in Champions League Twenty 20 Hafeez was reported for suspected bowling action by on field umpires.

Pakistan and China signed 21 agreements and MoUs in Beijing on Saturday morning to help promote cooperation between the two countries in fields of energy and infrastructure under Economic Corridor Project. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chinese premier Li Keqiang were also present in the ceremony. The agreements will help promote cooperation between the two countries in the fields of energy and infrastructure under the Economic Corridor Project, and other sectors.

Chine will invest in energy sector to over come energy crisis in Pakistan.

These include agreements on solar power production at Quaid-e Azam Solar Park, easy loan for laying optic fiber between the two countries, mining of 65,00,000 metric tons of coal in Block-2 of Thar, 870 MW Suki Kinari Hydropower project, 1320 MW coal power project in Sahiwal, and an MoU for 100 MW Jhimpir wind power project. An agreement was signed to establish an Industrial Park in Faisalabad. The two countries also inked agreement for economic and technical cooperation.

Suspended off-spinner Saeed Ajmal has been included in Pakistan’s provisional World Cup squad of 30 players but it is subject to him clearing the informal biomechanics test in the United Kingdom. Ajmal who is already in the UK is scheduled to undergo the informal test on Monday with former Pakistan spinner Saqlain Mushtaq accompanying him. Ajmal on Monday also reiterated his confidence that his corrected bowling action would be cleared in the tests as he was now straightening his arm within the 15 degrees allowed by the ICC.

Zong Telecom has extended it’s 3G service now Zong customers will enjoy the 3G service while traveling through motorways all over the country. Suspended Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal has substantially improved his suspect bowling action but he still needs work to return to being within the legal limit. Before going for his official test with the ICC, the PCB sent Ajmal to Loughborough, England, to have an unofficial assessment as a precautionary measure and the Pakistan board said the unofficial test was satisfactory.

After tests on November 10 at Loughborough University, an ICC-accredited facility for tests on bowlers with suspect actions, biomechanist Dr. Mark King has reported that Ajmal has modified his bowling action substantially. While there is clearly a substantial improvement from the previous official test it is likely that with additional work the bowler can bowl within the 15-degree limit. Ajmal will remain in England for one more week and will continue working with Saqlain.
