Punjab Annual canals closure schedule for de-silting
Lahore (Friday, Nov 22, 2013) – Punjab Irrigation Department on Thursday announced schedule for annual closure of canals during Rabi season 2013-14 for de-silting. According to the announced schedule, canals pertaining to Project Management Office (PMO), Punjab Barrages, and the Thal Canal, which off takes from Jinnah Barrage and Lower Chenab Canal (except Jhang Branch) that emerges from Khanki Headwork, shall remain closed from January 13 to 30, 2014. It is pertinent to mention here that Punjab Irrigation department announced to close these canals every year for de-silting.

Punjab Canals Closure Programme During Rabi 2013-2014
