Cricket once again will be featured in upcoming 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. ICC tried hard for the cricket presence in Olympic games and hopes it will also featured in 2028 Games in Los Angeles. The Asian Games is one of the big multi-sports event in which cricket going to added.
Meanwhile T20 Cricket was played in the Asia Games in 2010 and 2014 but excluded from the event in Asiad 2018 held in Indonesia due to the absence of India, as the country decided to opt out of the game of cricket in the Asian Games citing the busy calendar of teams.
While Hangzhou 2022 is due to feature all Olympic sports in addition to five nominated by each of the OCA zones, two sports nominated by Chinese officials and two more by the OCA.
Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Myanmar. Nepal, Bhutan, Thailand and Saudi Arabia will participate in this event but no confirmation from Srilanka, Afghanistan and India.
