The Peace Skiing Gala organized at Maalam Jabba, Swat in a bid to improve tourism in the country’s northern areas. Malam Jabba is home to the only ski resort in Pakistan, 8700 feet high above sea on the top of the Karakoram mountain range.
Organized by the Pioneer Ski School and the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Corporation, the weeklong event that started on March 5 and ends on March 8 features seven teams comprising 30 players. It is being held at the Malam Jabba ski resort, 300 kilometers from the capital Islamabad, at an elevation of 9,200 feet above sea level in the Hindu Kush mountain range.
