As the PCB announced 15 players for the ICC world cup, there are some critics over it as always. PCB chief selector Moin Khan shows some surprises in selection as some experience players missing and some young players take place. Mon Khan said the team was selected after consultation with Misbah and coach Waqar Younis.
Moin Khan managed to include a few ‘surprise’ packages and the most interesting of them is inclusion of youngster Sohail Khan. inclusion proved heavy for quality all-rounder Bilalwal Bhatti, who could fill the gap as the team is in dire need of an all-rounder.
Ehsan Adil is not fully fit and remained injury-prone right throughout his career. So his inclusion will affect Pakistan fast bowling badly, especially when Wahab and Junaid have hardly recovered from injuries, taking a bowler like Ehsan Adil is not a clever move. Now Pakistan team badly depends on part-time bowler. If Ehsan is included in the playing XI and he gets injured, Pakistan team will suffer and it will be almost impossible for them to bowl complete overs.
Pakistan included inexperienced leg-spinner Yasir Shah in the 15-man squad for next month’s World Cup Tuesday, hoping the newcomer fills the gap left by Saeed Ajmal who withdrew due to an illegal bowling action. Pacemen Umar Gul, Sohail Tanvir and batsmen Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik failed to make the cut over recent poor form.
