Pakistan team manager and chief selector Moin Khan said that there should be no doubts that Misbah-ul-Haq will captain Greenshirts in the World Cup 2015 at Australia and New Zealand. National team’s chief selector Moin said that all-rounder Shahid Afridi who captained Pakistan in the World Cup 2011 has not shown any desire to captain Pakistan’s ODI team for the World Cup 2015. He further said that there is no grouping in the national team and the players are happy with the team management.
The King of Swing Wasim Akram also backed PCB to retain Misbah as the captain for the upcoming World Cup, the questions were raised when Misbah rested for the 3rd ODI match against Australia and in his absence Shahid Afridi led the team in the last match of the ODI series at Abu Dhabi.
Pakistan was whitewashed by Australia 3-0 in the ODI series, they will play the two match Test series against the Aussies starting on 22nd October at Dubai. Followed by a series against New Zealand which consists of three Tests, five ODIs and two T20 matches, starting with a Test on 9th November.
