Pakistan River System Map with Head Works
Lahore (Saturday, September 6, 2014) – Due to torrential rains in the catchment area of river Jhelum, Chenab and Ravi, There is high flood situation at various head works in Punjab province.
There are five big river system in Pakistan. They are :-
River Indus : It starts from Skardu and goes through Partab Bridge, Besham, Tarbela, Kalabagh, Chamshma, Taunsa, Mithankot, Gudu, Sukkur, Kotri and fall in Arabian sea.
River Jhelum :- It starts form Kohala. Then it goes ahead from Mangla, Rasul. Then it falls in River Chenab at Trimmu Head Works.
River Chenab:-It starts from Akhnor. Then it goes through Marala, Khanki, Qadirabad, Trimmu, Punjnad and then it falls into river Indus.
River Ravi:- It starts from Madupur and travel through Jassar, Shahdara Lahore, Baloki ans Sidhnai and then it falls in River Chenab.
River Sultuj:- It journey starts from Harike. Then it travels through Ganda Singh Wala, Sulemanki and Head Islam. At Punjnud if falls into River Chenab.
